YESSSS! A My Big Fat American Gypsy Wedding Spinoff! (And More.)

Remember Mellie Stanley from My Big Fat American Gypsy Wedding? The stripper who caused trouble, started fights and made trouble just about anywhere that she could? She's back! Mellie will be one of the featured players in a new reality show called Gypsy Sisters. The show is a spinoff of a spinoff - it features features 'characters' from My Big Fat American Gypsy Wedding, the American spinoff of the UK's My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding.

The show will feature the Stanley family, who were some of the most outrageous on My Big Fat American Gypsy Wedding, and that says a lot.  We'll see Nettie, the head of the family, start gossip. We'll see Mellie deal with the return of her ex-boyfriend. We'll see mom Lottie Mae get out of jail and we'll see married couple Kayla and Richard figure out the rules for their daughter Danielle's dating life.

If this show is half as good as My Big Fat American Gypsy Wedding, we're in for a treat. Now all we have to do is wait for February 10th, when the show will premiere. I can't wait!

If you can't get enough of celebrities doing random things, you'll love ABC's new show, Splash. This is like Dancing With the Stars or Skating With Celebrities or whatever else...only it's about diving! Per ABC.com:

Set to show off their diving skills are Emmy-Award-winning comedian Louie Anderson, former "Baywatch" babe Nicole Eggert, Nickelodeon star Drake Bell, Chelsea Handler sidekick Chuy Bravo, former Huxtable kid Keshia Knight Pulliam, NFL star Ndamukong Suh, Miss USA contestant Katherine Webb and "Girl Next Door" Kendra Wilkinson.
I want to say this show will be interesting, but I'm not totally convinced. I'm not even sure that celebrities can make diving exciting.

Jenelle Evans of Teen Mom 2 has suffered from a miscarriage. Ex-fiance Gary Head was with her at the hospital during this sad event. Although Jenelle's made her mistakes, this is still a sad situation and we wish her the best during this difficult time. I hope this makes her think, though, and realize that she's worth more than abusive relationships and can get her life together to work towards a happy, successful life for her and son Jace.

Jenelle Evans Headed for Divorce...Story # 7,859,385 or Whatever

Jenelle Evans once again shared via Twitter that she's headed towards divorce. Yes, again. She claims that husband Courtland Rogers cheated on her as she thought that she might be suffering from a miscarriage. Courtland denies the allegations, but Jenelle stands by the fact that Courtland's up to no good, which was cemented by the list of names she found with "DTF" written next to them. For those of us who aren't up on the latest abbreviation lingo, that stands for "down to f---". Nice, huh? I'm hardly defending Courtland here, but Jenelle may want to take her own advice and actually leave if Courtland continues to treat her badly.

Update: Jenelle's filed assault charges against Courtland.

In the opposite of public-marriage-and-divorce news, congratulations are due to Kelly Osbourne! The reality star was quietly engaged to Matthew Mosshart in December, but news is just getting out now. While I can't say I support Kelly completely in the Kelly and Sharon Osbourne vs. Lady Gaga fight, I have to congratulate Kelly for keeping the engagement classy and private until she was ready to share the news. (In case you didn't follow, Kelly Osbourne criticized Lady Gaga for skipping the red carpet at the Grammy Awards, and Gaga's fans unleashed fury on her. Lady Gaga and Mama Sharon later got involved as well.)

Are the Kardashians krashing? Reportedly, their ratings are slipping, as people are choosing to watch The Real Housewives of Atlanta, rather than tune into E!'s Kourtney and Kim Take Miami. Not only that, but Kim Kardashian and Kris Jenner disagree about how to handle the end of the Kim-and-Kris Humphries marriage. Kim wanted to give in to Kris Humphries' annulment request, but mom said no. Originally, we heard it was because it could harm the Kardashian empire, but now we're also hearing that the annulment would make their prenup null and void, which would mean Kris H. would be free to break his confidentiality clause and give us a tell-all. And you bet people would pay for a tell-all about Kim Kardashian! If Kim wants to close the book on her marriage right now, she can pay Kris Humphries $7 million, but that's not happening. I guess we'll have to wait and see how this turns out!

Random Thoughts For The Week

Jessica Simpson is reportedly having a boy. If you recall, she and fiance Eric Johnson named their daughter Maxwell Drew, so does that mean she'll name her son a girl's name? Granted, Maxwell and Drew were their mothers' maiden names so I understand the reference, but still. That doesn't mean the name isn't exactly masculine.

Jenelle Evans and Courtland Rogers are on the rocks again. They had a big back-and-forth on Twitter about their current relationship woes. This is unfortunate as Jenelle is pregnant with the pair's first child. (Jenelle, star of MTV's 16 and Pregnant and Teen Mom 2, has a son Jace already, and Courtland has a daughter Jordan with ex-girlfriend Taylor.) This is hardly the first relationship issue for the pair, who announced the pregnancy while sharing other drama as well.

The Karreuche Tran / Rihanna drama continues with daily updates! Now, Karreuche is accused of creating a shirt for her fashion line that crosses out Rihanna's name and replaces it with her own. According to Perez Hilton, Karreuche denies creating this shirt for her line, but is photographed with someone who's wearing it, so she's definitely not against it, at minimum!

Have you ever wanted an item but don't want to pay full price? I had some fun shopping around Amazon.com's Warehouse Deals. Amazon's Warehouse Deals can be likened to a Sample Sale - it's the same stuff you'd get at full price but may have been used for a display at one point or another...or something like it. The point is, I love this site because I've gotten perfect boots at a fraction of the retail price, and this site can be really beneficial for bargain hunters.

Speaking of bargains, are you a Zumba lover? There's some great stuff on sale at Zumba.com right now. And, enter code SIREN at checkout for an additional 10% off your purchase of Zumba wear. If you don't do Zumba, I highly recommend it. It can be a great workout and fashion show all rolled into one!

Octomom is making her kids proud...well, actually, no, she probably is embarrassing the you-know-what out of them. Nadya Suleman, who made a sex tape to support the ridiculous amount of kids she had a single mom, won the award for the Best Celebrity Sex Tape and the AVN Porn Awards. Calling her a celebrity is definitely a stretch, but I guess I get it. Sort of.

A high-school aged rapper is being sued by a middle-school aged girl for child support. This is problematic, as the rapper, Keith Cozart, AKA Chief Keef, was 15 at the time he and this girl conceived the child, and in Illinois, having sex under the age of 17 is illegal. I know a ton of people have sex before they're 17, but I guess most don't sue for child support while the mother is still in middle school, so the issue doesn't go to court.

Jenelle Evans is Pregnant With Baby Number Two...Ugh.

If you watch Teen Mom 2 or even exist in society, you've heard of Jenelle Evans and know she's, um, in an interesting place in life.

Photo from Instagram
Jenelle Evans has had a recent string of arrests and drug abuses, not to mention questionable former relationships and a quickie marriage to Courtland Rogers, whom she threatens to divorce weekly on Twitter.

At the age of 21, Jenelle is mom to 3 year old Jace and is now pregnant with her second child. Her mother Barbara currently has custody of Jenelle's son Jace. This is also the second child for Courtland, who has a daughter Jordan with ex-girlfriend Taylor.

Jenelle claims that she's been off drugs for two months and is seven weeks pregnant. She and Courtland married on December 4th, 2012 and have faced drama ever since. For example, Jenelle and Courtland have threatened to divorce, Courtland has been accused of only being with Jenelle for the MTV paychecks and Jenelle's been the subject of a nude photo scandal.

I truly hope that Jenelle takes this pregnancy as a wake up call, stays off drugs and gets her life on track. She, her husband and their kids have the chance to have a good life together if the pair can stay away from the drama and move forward as a family. Given the pair's track record (both were reportedly on drugs and have a penchant for drama) it's not a guarantee that this kid will get them on track, but I certainly hope it happens!

Lessons We Can Learn from Honey Boo Boo's Uncle Poodle

Here Comes Honey Boo Boo is a fun, lighthearted show. But being that it's a reality show, there's reality behind the fun stuff. Today, we learned that Alana Thompson's Uncle Poodle is gay and is HIV Positive, and he wants to share his story.

Lee Thompson, otherwise known as Uncle Poodle on Here Comes Honey Boo Boo, wants to share his story, and with good reason. He wants to share what it's like to be gay in the south, and use his celebrity status to raise awareness of situations like his own. I imagine that he faces challenges on a daily basis, and if his story can help others, I think he should be given the chance to share it on TV.

Lee's story is a sad one - his boyfriend knowingly transmitted HIV to him by not disclosing his HIV-positive status and not taking medication while engaging in relations with Mr. Thompson.

While Uncle Poodle's story is sure to not be light-hearted and fluffy like Honey Boo Boo's, he deserves the chance to help others on television. If his situation can help one person struggling with their sexuality or living with HIV, then he's done a wonderful thing. We can learn a lot from Lee Thompson - he's taking a big risk by sharing this personal information with us, but he's doing a wonderful thing by sharing his story to help others.

Do You Viggle?

Have you heard of Viggle? If you like reality TV, you really should know about it!

Viggle is an iPhone and Android app that gives you points just for watching TV. The points add up and you can cash them in for stuff like gift cards, an iPod and a Kindle Fire. Essentially, you can take home free stuff just for watching TV!

All you have to do to use Viggle is download the app and choose your TV provide from Viggle's list. Then, aim your phone at your TV as you watch a show, and use Viggle to check in. Viggle will recognize what you're watching, and you get points for the shows you watch.

If you want extra Viggle points, check out the app's featured shows. When you watch those, you'll get your regular points plus your bonus points. The featured shows are good, too - I've seen Pretty Little Liars, Modern Family, Miss America, sports and more. If you want even more from the app, play along with the challenges. When you watch certain shows, you can answer multiple choice questions and earn points for answering questions correctly. (You'll still get one point if you guess wrong, so it's worth a try!)

Viggle has contests and other interactive activities, like the MyGuy interactive sports challenge. You watch sports and play along with Viggle, which adds a whole new element to the game.

Plus, if you're a DirecTV customer, you can link your accounts and earn a TON of extra points. This app is great for everyone, but if you've got DirecTV, it's definitely a bonus.

Why do I like Viggle?

I like Viggle because it's fun! I love finding out how many points I earn for each show that I watch. Plus, I watch shows anyway, so I might as well benefit from my reality TV habit! I spent hours watching HGTV this weekend (hello, House Hunters!) and the points added up really fast. It will take a while before you have enough points to cash in, but when you do cash them in, it's totally worth it.

On February 17th, tune in for Worst Cooks In America

If you want to see reality TV in full swing, look no further, Worst Cooks In America is preparing for the new season and on February 17 they are all ready to come out with the fourth season premiere.

The first episode will be introducing the fourteen new culinary-challenged recruits with Bobby Flay and Anne Burrell welcoming them with grocery bags with food found at each of the contestant's homes. And the first task for the challenged will be to cook their best dish out of the packaged and canned food they can cook. In the first episode's first team challenge Anne's team is trying to cook Seared Pork Chop with Bacon and Grape Port Wine Sauce and Bobby's team is about to try Beef Tenderloin in Mushroom, Mustard and Red Wine Sauce. How successful they will all be remains to be seen, but the worst from both teams will be eliminated and twelve remaining recruits will get to stay for the next challenges.

The series is seven episodes long and the fourth season finale is set to air on Sunday, March 31st at 9pm ET/PT where the two remaining contestants will be given a task to cook a three-course meal for the series judges, namely Andrew Carmellini, Anita Lo and Floyd Cardoz.

Cyndi Lauper: Still So Unusual...Such a Snooze

I caught some episodes of Cyndi Lauper: Still So Unusual on WeTV today. I hate to say it, but I found the show to be a total snoozefest. Cyndi Lauper's great - her songs have defined more than one generation - but giving her a reality show probably isn't the way to revive her career.

The show is filled with Cyndi speaking in her typical baby talk...a lot. And Cyndi doing the dishes. And Cyndi telling us that her son, as a little kid, gave her permission to be out of the home most of the time to further her career and now clearly regretting it.These are hardly riveting and exciting events.

Aside from that stuff, the show is filled with 'planted' scenes, like the one where Cyndi has lunch with Kathy Griffin, and Kathy makes jokes about hoping to never see Cyndi's son on Teen Mom. Then, when the pair gets Cyndi's son Declan on the phone, Kathy cracks jokes to him about dating Jenelle Evans from Teen Mom. It reeked of producers saying, "Hey Kathy, this show is boring! Try to do something funny!"

I must admit - the show was entertaining in one way - seeing the difference between Cyndi Lauper in makeup and Cyndi Lauper without makeup. That's a dramatic transformation!

My verdict: skip this show. What looks better? Fix My Family, a new show on WeTV in which, well, families are fixed. I think this show looks pretty real, and I'd be interested to watch it. Hopefully it'll be better than Lifetime's Teen Trouble, which would probably be good except for the terrible dramatic editing.

Dance Moms Season Premiere: 1/1/2013

The first surprise for the Dance Moms viewers this season was that one family was missing - Kelly, Brooke and Paige. Abby walked into the studio, gave a dirty look, and trashed the pictures of the kids that she had earmarked for the pyramid because there weren't enough kids present for the pyramid. Holly questioned how Abby could just throw away their history and Abby made it clear that she could.

Abby continued by being upset because she'd set up choreography sessions for the kids over break and most didn't show up for them.

Abby announced that the team would be traveling to Denver, Colorado for Intensity Dance. The group dance, the only one that was determined at this point, was called Angels vs. Demons. Abby then announced that she'd be holding auditions to replace Brooke and Paige.

During the auditions, in which we saw some very talented kids, Jill commented that the moms are crazy. This made me laugh because Jill and the current moms are pretty nuts sometimes, too, but whatever! Abby determined the finalists and said she'd be making an announcement soon after.

We flashed over to Kelly, Brooke and Paige at home. It seems like Brooke and Paige were conflicted on whether to continue but leaning towards no to pursue other interests. Kelly was incredibly opposed to their return because the environment wasn't safe and healthy for the kids.

Abby told Jill that Kendall would have a solo this week - the first of the season. The solo was called It Girl. Jill asked Abby if she's chosen the new people for the team. Abby said she'd narrowed it down but not made a selection, and wouldn't tell the moms who she chose. Holly asked if she'd be giving the new girl solos over their kids. Abby looked displeased. Jill asked if the new girls would be on probation. Abby walked out of the room.

We watched part of Kendall's rehearsal, which didn't go well. She was given the solo because she worked hard over the break, but Abby told her that she wasn't dancing well and the girls in auditions were better than her. Kendall cried to her mom, and Abby screamed into the room that the girl who was given a solo shouldn't be crying. At this point, Jill kicked in as a good mom instead of Abby's pet. Jill told Abby that she can't treat Kendall like this and expect her to perform well.

Next, the new moms arrived after the studio. There were two contenders - Ava and Ally. Ava would keep the age down but doesn't have her side aerial. Aly would compete in the 13 - 15 year old division. Ally was chosen for now, and Ava wasn't given a spot.

Cathy was also looking to replace a student who left - Justice. Then she got a crazy idea - take Vivi out for a bit and have an all-boy competition team.

Shelly, Ally's mom, met with the other moms in the viewing room. As the moms talked and watched Ally dance, Holly noticed that Ally was learning the special part of the dance that Chloe had previously been learning. Ally was being given the part of the angel in the group number - which Abby was stealing away from Chloe! Shelly was sweet and apologetic about, but Christi took issue with the fact that Shelly didn't stand up to Abby about it.

Chloe and Maddie practiced for their solos. Then, Abby met with Mackenzie for her solo, called Goody-Goody. Abby told her that she used to just be Maddie's little sister but now she's a title holder, so she expects a lot. She also told her she's gotten worse since the end of last season.

Abby talked to the girls about how they aren't as good as they used to be. She said that if the girls didn't improve, Abby would take away the group number and only have Ally do her part as a solo. Holly stepped in at this point - she said she doesn't want to go all the way to Denver if Nia wouldn't be dancing.

Abby took Shelly out to get to know her. Abby said the moms think that Shelly's just being quiet for now but is secretly an outspoken dance mom. In truth (or at least in Shelly's perspective) she's being herself with the moms - she just happens to be nice. Abby told Shelly to not let the moms get to her or react in front of them.

The Competition

Shelly's mom, in the practice room, started talking about how it's not her fault Ally's in the group because it was Kelly's choice to pull her kids out of dance. The subject turned to the group number, and the moms encouraged Shelly to not let Abby turn the group number into Ally's solo. Shelly said she wouldn't speak out against the teacher. Shelly left the room to talk to Abby and encourage her, although nicely, to keep the group number as a group number. Christi said she wasn't sure that Shelly fits in because when Shelly talks, birds fly out of her mouth, yet when she (Christi) talks, fire comes out of her mouth.

Maddie's lyrical solo Don't Leave Me was first. As usual, she didn't disappoint. Chloe, who was nervous because of how Abby treated her, was next with her contemporary solo called Nobody's Perfect. It was funny - the song is about loving yourself the way you are because nobody's perfect, yet that's the exact opposite of what Abby teaches her girls. Chloe, like Maddie, danced great. Chloe said she forgot her steps, but Abby told both girls that they performed well, so she must have recovered well. Still, Abby couldn't help to put in a dig about how in a real show, Chloe can't change the choreography because she'll get fired.

Abby got a surprise visit from Mark, a friend from high school. He apparently knows Kelly as well, and shared a dig with Abby about how Kelly's kids forget their parts. He and Kelly used to date according to the dance moms, although Abby's in denial about that. Abby seemed to be pretty into the guy.

Kendall performed her jazz solo third. She danced okay but the choreo wasn't as special as Maddie or Chloe's. There wasn't anything special about the number. Even Jill admitted that the performance wasn't fabulous. Abby said the performance was entertaining, but she thought she should have done better.

Abby announced that all of the girls would be participating in the group number, as initially planned. She said she was doing something strategic the whole time by watching the other numbers or something. I'm not exactly sure what Abby was planning, but I don't know if we ever really know what Abby's got in her mind. Ally's dancing was beautiful. The girl's got talent. The other Abby Lee girls complemented her, and the dance was absolutely beautiful. To me, this is one of Abby's best numbers.

Mackenzie's solo was last. The girls prayed that Mackenzie would remember her dance so Abby wouldn't yell at her. Mackenzie did well, although her hairpiece fell out of her hair, and she subsequently forgot part of her dance. She kept going, though! Fortunately, Abby only told Mackenzie not to cry afterwards and didn't criticize her for her wardrobe malfunction.

Awards

Mackenzie took first place in the Mini Solo Award.

In the Elite Junior Solo Division, Kendall took fifth place. Chloe took second place. Maddie took first place.

In the Junior Group division, Abby's team won first place. And they definitely deserved it!

The episode ended with Abby saying she hoped she could get rid of Christi and hanging out with Mark. Do we smell a romance in progress?
