The Latest Real Housewives of New Jersey Court Updates

Teresa and Joe Giudice's fraud trial has been pushed back to February 2014. Why? Because Joe's trial for using a fake driver's license begins in October, and that's when his fraud trial was originally set to take place.

Per RealityTea:

Joe is charged with "wrongfully using identifying information of another person, a second-degree crime carrying 10 years in prison, and forgery, a fourth-degree crime that carries an 18-month maximum prison sentence. He is currently free on $50,000 bail."

I'm pretty sure, on top of that, that Joe and Teresa aren't allowed to leave the NJ / NY area because of their fraud trial. So because their trial date was extended, the pair won't be taking any vacations in the near future. Although if Joe gets deported (he claimed he didn't know he was a citizen...because that makes sense) they might be taking a forever vacation to Italy. Real Housewives of Italy, anyone?

The pair have plead not guilty to their fraud charges (see them all here) and Teresa's main defense seems to be that she didn't know what was going on - she just did what Joe told her.

Jacqueline Laurita, Chris Laurita and Joe Gorga also have more time to think before they go to trial. Their case stems from an assault at Kim D's new salon. NorthJersey.com reports:

The assault and terroristic threat complaints against “Housewives” star Jacqueline Laurita of Franklin Lakes; her husband, Christopher; and Joe Gorga of Montville have been adjourned.

The cases will now proceed in Ridgewood’s Municipal Court on Sept. 26.

The charges stem from a fracas at the grand opening of a salon in Ridgewood.

The charges had been referred in April to the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office for grand jury consideration, which returned the matter to Ridgewood for resolution last month.

Being that she's accused of attacking a man with a stiletto, I wonder if Jacqueline will consider wearing sensible shoes to her trial. It might be a smart idea.
