We have Real Housewives of Orange County, New York, Atlanta, New Jersey and DC. We also have Basketball Wives, Football Wives, rich wives, Bridezilla soon-to-be wives, famous wives and people on the Millionaire Matchmaker who want to be wives. Now, VH1 is taking this one step further.
VH1 is taking on a show called Mob Wives, where we'll watch wives of jailed mob members tackle the world on their own.
I have to say, this seems to go a bit far - but who knows? Maybe I'm wrong.
First of all, this proves once again that reality TV loves Italian people. Jersey Shore brought us in, and so did The Real Housewives of New Jersey and My Big Friggin' Wedding. People eat up the Italian stereotypes, despite the fact that many people of Italian descent do not fit these stereotypes.
Secondly, this is an interesting show because it brings us into the semi-secret, semi-public world of the mob. I feel like the people on this show might get some backlash for making their lifestyles so public.
You know what, though? The people on this show will be consenting adults, and reality TV does have the knack for pushing the envelope...although this time it might be a bit over the edge.
